Hello, my name is Anjali. I have professional background working on Wall Street, particularly in the areas of Fixed Income (bond trading). I have worked extensively in finance and have a broad range of financial experience. I can assist with any aspects of this and help tutor someone toward a career in this arena.
Additionally, I have owned and operated my own business, a woman's clothing line and may assist someone wanting to be more entrepreneurial and to help guide a student toward this aspect in their life. The fashion industry is another strength, as I own a designer label that is still active.
My educational background is a bachelor's degree in business from Boston College.
I have solid experience with MS Word and MS Excel.
My strong points are math, numbers, English, spelling, grammar and finance.
I am an avid athlete and teach yoga, running classes, as well as swimming and those wishing to compete in marathons and triathlons!
I am very organized, easy going but effective in terms of translating what needs to be delivered to the student, believe in making learning and tutoring FUN and a process that is enjoyable. I develop programs for students based upon THEIR needs and desires and level and also personality, and not my own curriculum. I will not force a process or system as I believe that each individual must have his/her own customized program, whether it is for English or math tutoring or for a physical sport.
I also teach by using things from our daily lives to make the learning more real and applicable. So many times students will say, "I will never use this in my life". And I turn that around and come up with a way or a story to show the student how they may apply the lesson on hand, as when you can relate a topic to reality, it is easier to learn and remember and does not feel like 'school' or a 'lesson' but rather something fun and interesting that is being discussed.
