Hi,
I'm Liberal Studies/Child Development major at Southwestern College. I have completed 61 units of coursework in everything from Physical Education to Science. Most of my experience includes assisting elementary school students in the after school program I work in. My Algebra professor in college recommeneded becoming a tutor. I'm very patient when working with students, especially since I work mostly with children. I have no problem repeating the same thing several times when necessary. However, I also try to demonstrate to students using examples similar to those they are working on. My college grade point average is 3.8. I'm 5 classes shy of my Associates Degree in Child Development. I should be transferring to San Diego State in Fall 2010 to continue studies towards a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies. I am looking forward to working with students of any age in the subjects I am confident in.

  Hello, I'm currently a Liberal Studies Major nearly ready to transfer to San Diego State University to finish my four-year degree and obtain a teaching credential. I'm also five classes away from obtaining an Associates Degree in Child Development. I have volunteered in elementary school classrooms for three years. I've also worked as a Resource Assistant at the same school for most of a school year. Currently I work as a Youth Leader in an after-school program. We plan and conduct physical and art activities for the children in our program, as well as spending an hour and a half with a grade level helping the children with their homework every day, in all subjects. I usually work with Kindergarten and First grade, but have experience with all elementary grade levels.
