I have a doctorate degree in Chiropractic Medicine from Cleveland Chiropractic College, I graduated cum laude 3.5 GPA 04/24/2009

I received my undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville Illinois.

I teach part time at Southwestern Illinois College SWIC in the math and sciences department.

I enjoy teaching individuals of all ages, from gradeschool children to adults in college. I enjoy working with individuals teaching them about wellness and nutrition. I also enjoy teaching students at all age levels in math, sciences, and english. I have tutored for five yrs for a University in english courses, biochemistry, biology, algebra I and II, geometry, histology, physiology, and immunobiology helping undergrad and postgrad students with a variety of declared majors improve their grades.
I have also tutored students independently over the past eight yrs in subjects such as ESL and elementary (k-6), As well as students preparing to take their ASVAB, GRE, MCAT and GED exams.
I enjoy tutoring, teaching and helping others advance in their educational goals.
I use a variety of teaching styles depending on how each student learns. From graphs, drawings, and power points, to detailed notes. I also incorporate practice problem sets and exams for students to take to see their progress.

• elementary (k-6th)

  I have 5 yrs experience tutoring children elementary (k-6). Besides helping my younger siblings when they were in grade school with their homework, I began tutoring elementary students while in high school then as my education progressed to college and graduate school in branched out an added college level tutoring to my adgenda. I am skilled in tutoring elementary math, english/language arts, reading, and social studies. I have also tutored students in gym/physical fitness-education (getting them involved in being active and less sedentary at home.

• study skills

  I have three yrs experience tutoring college level and post graduate level students. Assisting them in study skills to help them learn how they learn best. Not every student learns the same way. Some students are visual learners others have to write or focus in with intense listening. I have experience in seeing what method a student needs to use to increase their ability to learn more efficiently. I teach students how to use graphs and charts as well as taking good lecture notes in class and focusing in on important details in reading materials.

• ESL/ESOL

  I have 3 yrs experience tutoring students in which english is their second language. A majority of the students I've worked with had an age range of 14-30 years of age. But, I am able to tutor ESL students of all ages in reading. I utilize a variety of teaching techiques to help the student learn. Each student being different in his/her learning style I can modify the teaching plan to gear it towards each students specific needs and weaknesses. This allows the student to learn efficiently and in depth in the specific areas of need and their tutoring time is well spent.
