My education includes a Bachelor's degree in International Business with a concentration in Economics, and a Master's degree in Human Resources. I have extensive experience tutoring during high school and college. I have been often asked by professors to tutor fellow students during courses. I have tutored various math subjects, including calculus, algebra, equations, geometry, trigonometry among others. I went through my K-11 education in Europe where the level of difficulty in most subjects, especially exact sciences such as math, chemistry, and physics, is much higher. I have had to take math from first grade, physics from fifth grade, and chemistry from sixth grade. I believe this extensive exposure has increased my understanding and proficiency of scientific subjects.
Other subjects I have tutored include chemistry, physics, history, and grammar. Writing skills is one of my biggest strengths. Furthermore, extensive study of business and economics during my college years have deepened my understanding of the science of economics, and my work experience in different business settings have introduced me to the subtleties of the business world. During school and work I have worked extensively in front of the computer with various programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SPSS, PeopleSoft, and I am proficient using Mac machines. Finally, I have experience with TOEFL, SAT, GRE, and the LSAT, having to take all these exams during my school years. I'm proud to say that I have performed in the top 20 percent on each of these exams. Also, I am fluent in Italian, both spoken and written. Finally, I have strong soccer skills from both playing since very little, and coaching young teams (10-14 year old).
I prefer a tutoring style that is involving the student to attempt to reach the solution, instead of being given the right answer. I believe this style challenges the student to use his/her abilities, and in turn stimulates learning. I am very easygoing and friendly, and I will be happy to share my knowledge to help someone conquer a subject or skill and reach his/her potential. Thank you for considering me!
