I am a licensed attorney with a B.A. in Spanish from Northwestern University (Evanston, IL). I spent my entire junior year in Madrid, Spain. I took courses in education and linguistics at Northwestern in preparation for a Fulbright teaching assistantship in Ecuador. I returned to Madrid for a summer to study law with William & Mary Law School and later taught legal research to foreign attorneys. I have traveled seven times to Colombia, my wife's home country, four times to Spain, and countless times to Mexico as a law student at the University of San Diego. I speak Spanish every day. At the high school level, I have taught summer school Spanish and ACT prep, and I have tutored and taught adults to speak Spanish since 2007. I worked as a Spanish-to-English translator for a law firm and recently for a large accounting firm. I won the Spanish Association of the Midwest's Foreign Study Scholarship for my junior year in Madrid and a merit scholarship from William & Mary for my summer legal studies in Madrid. I won a National Merit Scholarship and an Evans Scholarship to Northwestern and am a former member of American Mensa Limited. I have studied Spanish medical interpreting and I have done volunteer work as a Spanish medical interpreter. Spanish is in my soul, and I enjoy teaching. I look forward to helping you to learn Spanish.
