Hi! My name is Rachel and I am a sophomore at the College of William and Mary. Through out my schooling, I volunteered with the tutoring organization Interact. Here, I helped children improve their math, English, reading, puzzle-solving, spelling skills, and art. I also volunteer with the organization College Partnership for Kids. I work with elementary and middle school students on vocabulary, reading pronunciation, and comprehension. I bring enthusiasm to any subject and always find fun ways to approach "boring" subjects. I am a patient teacher who genuinely wants to help students learn a subject carefully and fully. I am willing to drive to your house or a nearby location, such as a library, to meet for the sessions. I live in both Northern Virginia and Williamsburg, Virginia. From September 2009-May 2010, I will only be available to tutor from the Williamsburg area.   I love the arts, and have focused much of my time on visual art. Through out my schooling, I learned drawing, painting, charcoal, pastels, printing, sculpture, and watercolor. I have completed numerous art classes focusing on pastel work, painting, charcoal, line drawing, and watercolor technique. I also am knowledgeable about the history of artists, such as Salvador Dali, Georgia O'Keefe, M.C. Escher, Andy Warhol, and Jackson Pollock. I would love to spread my passion for art to all who want to learn!
