general music
Music is my life, and I have an ample background in general music. I started playing the piano at 5 years of age, and from there, took up playing the cello at age 10. I can sing and have always been involved in choirs. My piano teacher saw it necessary to teach us the bare bones of music theory, and I still carry that knowledge with me today.
cello
I started playing the cello when I was 10 years old -- I'm currently 28 -- and started taking private cello lessons two years later. In junior high and high school, I was actively involved in school orchestras as well as the city youth symphony. I won many awards, including scholarships to attend various music and cello intensive camps. After high school, I taught cello for a few years at Rosie's House (originally named the Christmas House) in Phoenix, AZ, providing opportunities for at-risk children to get private lessons free of charge from knowledgeable teachers. Currently, I play at random events (e.g., weddings, recitals, etc.).
