Students often fail because they lack confidence to succeed. Learning how to learn is an important component often missing in early education and by the time kids get to highschool, they are often already too discouraged to stretch or put in the effort.
I believe that careful and intentional emphasis on success and successful education experience is crucial. Therefore, in the process of focusing upon specific subjects or learning objectives students benefit by practicing concurrent "general" learning skills techniques.
