I lived and worked in Japan as a public High School teacher for two years in Fukui prefecture. I have a second Dan in Kyudo, the Japanese art of Archery and also practice the Japanese martial Art Iaido. I can help tutor those looking for JLPT levels 4 through 2 or just need help with grammar, conversation, or kanji. I believe Japanese is one of the most beautiful and interesting languages in the world and that with an open mind it is very easy to comprehend and can open up more opportunities than you can imagine.

ESL/ESOL

I worked and taught as an ESL instructor in Prague while earning my TEFL certification with the Trinity college of London. I mostly worked with adults at an intermediate level and made some really wonderfull progress and friendships with all of my students. I then moved to Japan where I worked in the Public School system for two years teaching High School and Elementary Level English 18 teaching hours a week for two years. I love working with students aged 13 to adult and am looking forward to helping advance the English abilities of any willing and motivated student.

Japanese

I lived and worked in Japan for two years as a Public High School teacher. I have passed the third level of the JLPT and have an E certification in the J Test of Practical Japanese. Living and working in Japan has given me unique insight into REAL Japanese and as a result I can teach you how to speak like a native speaker and not sound like a textbook. I have a 2 dan in Japanese Archery and a 3 kyu in Japanese Iaido (swordplay). Whether you would like to learn basic to upper intermediate Japanese, brush up on your grammar, or just work on your conversation ability, I hope I can help you advance your Japanese ability.
