More On Nicole's Subjects:

  • elementary (k-6th)

Starting in education I was a Paraprofessional (Teachers Aid) in a 2nd grade classroom and taught everything from Math, to Science to Social Studiesl. I have a strong foundation in working with students in the lower grades (1,2,3,4) and have many manipluatives left over from being at this school for two years. I like the one on one atmosphere working with these kids as I can give them specialized attention in what they are really struggiling in and create plans just for them. If this is what you need do not hesitate to contact me!

  • horseback riding

I started riding horses around age 7. I rode full time for 13 years until the start of college. I owned a horse with my sister for 3 years as well. We had to sell him due to us both going to college. During my years of riding I competed in shows in the short stirrup division, equitation division(walk, trot, canter, ground poles) I stopped showing earlier in my riding career due to my farm changing owners and continue jumping in my lessons. I jumped up to 3'3" and did courses as well. I loved the excitement and discipline it took to ride horses. I always concentrated on my flat work as it was key to having a successful jumping course. My love for horses has never faded. I would be willing to tutor anyone needing training in flat work (walk, trot, canter) and their position in these areas. I believe that when learning to ride, jumping should be left to a trained professional. Contact me if interested! I am also avaliable for grooming, takeout, and working your horse if needed.

  • special needs

I have been working with special needs students for 3 months now. I know how to adapt work for students with any disabilities and make it easier for them to complete their work. Having something that makes you different than others isn't a disability, it's an obstacle you can tackle and take head on. Working with student with different needs has made me be able to adapt math for each individual student with different needs. Or to change up a social studies lesson and modify it for a student who needs something explained in more detail. Children in a special needs classroom just need different techniques to learn. They are brilliant kids and I can offer ways to adapt and modify their work and lessons to make it easier for them to learn. If I can help you please do not hesitate to contact me!

  • study skills

Study Skills is an important concept to aquire when learning in any grade level. I am familiar with many different techniques to help young or older students manage their time properly to suceed in Studying. These include but are not limited to Proper time management, use of graphic organizers, notecards, and other studying techniques. Being a student myself and still a student in Graduate School I know the importance of having the skills to Study and Study well. If I can be of service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
