About Larry:

My Philosophy on Teaching and Tutoring:
I enjoy tutoring, and my greatest reward is seeing the person being tutored learn.
There is No Subject that is so difficult that it can't be made simple and presented
in a manner that anyone can learn it. There is no such thing as a stupid question.
I believe that a person in a learning situation should be allowed to ask any question
and asked it an infinite number of times if necessary. I believe that the tutor should
be able to determine why a question is being asked by the person being tutored.
I believe that the tutor should provide the required background and rephrased the
answer until the person being tutored question is answered to the person's satisfaction.
I believe that the person being tutored cannot advance to the next state of learning until
the current stage of questions are answered and understood. I believe that the tutor
should make the person being tutored comfortable, and assure and reassure that the
greatest reward for the tutor is seeing the person being tutored achieve the learning
objectives. I believe that the tutor should be able to put the tutor in the place of the
person being tutored. If the tutor does this, the tutor will always be patient, tolerant,
and respectful to the person being tutored. When the tutor has set this kind of
wholesome learning environment, the person being tutored will feel free to ask any question
and will enjoy the learning experience, thus achieving the learning objectives.
