I am currently a senior at N.C. State University majoring in Sociology with minors in both Business Management and Environmental Science. As of Spring 2008 my GPA is 3.7/4.0. Likewise, I have taken about 15 hours worth of Spanish classes. I went to high school at Millbrook in Raleigh and graduated in the top 10% of my class with a GPA of 4.3/4.0. During high school and college I have balanced both a full time work load with work and therefore have developed strong time management skills that will reflect in my tutoring style and may be a helpful, additional 'lesson' for my students.
I enjoy writing papers and doing research which is why I have excelled in Sociology and why I am currently in the process of applying to law school. I enjoy working with people, enjoy learning, am patient and have worked/mentored students of all ages. My main focus is on writing and reading. I would love to tutor both native and non-native speakers. My style of teaching is fun, creative, and open. I love questions, love asking questions and encourage curiosity. I personally care about my students and their success and feel it is important to take specific interest in what the student is interested in and where they want to go with the subject. I am professional, organized, and will always be prepared but hope that the sessions may provide more to the student than just 'knowledge' about the designated subject I hope to be one more supporter in that individual's life.
