I currently attend Neuqua Valley High School as a senior. I will be graduating in June 2009, with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 out of 4.0. I will be attending Indiana University - Bloomington in fall 2009. Before I go to college I wanted to save up so I don't have to work for my first year. As a result I am currently looking for an opportunity to teach student and children and have them benefit with my unique personality and positive attitude. I enjoy working with other kids my age because were able to relate so well and have a fun learning environment. Even though I teach children and help them out with their education, I tend to learn as much from my students that I would have never learned before. I am a very patient, respectful, and responsible individual. Feel free to contact me if your interested and I do have recommendations or references from three of my school teachers, that I would be glad to show you.
Below you will find more information about why I'm so hardworking, responsible, ambitious, respectful, helpful and goal oriented:
The Helping Hand that Changed My Life
March 30th, 2000. I walked into a hospital and was completely amazed by the smell of old people and fresh medicine trying to cure them from the inevitability of death. I stepped inside and saw a lone body covered with a pure white bed sheet. For some reason, the right hand was exposed. I knew that hand. I knew that hand like the back of my own hand. That same pale, hand that once taught me about life now lay inanimate. I immediately recalled what my mother said the last time I came to visit: "Be honest. Be respectful. And study." I remembered all those promises I made to my mother on her deathbed, about bringing my family great success through my achievements. I wanted to fulfill my mother's dying wish.
I quickly learned to be independent, because I knew my father would not be able to take care of my entire family due to his busy job. My grades began to turn around; I stopped failing my classes. I stopped wasting time. For the first time in my life, I was focused. At age eleven I was geared towards ultimate success. Every morning I woke myself up, got myself ready, locked the house, and left for school; all without the help of my mother or father. I even found my older brother coming to me for help. I personally never liked getting help from anyone and never accepted any sympathy or pity. As middle school came around, I began to do very well. I was an honest, hardworking, and an independent student. Throughout my whole middle school career I received straight A's. And for the first time, I knew I had pleased my mother.
In the eighth grade I started my own online web hosting business. I learned how to manage a business. I paid bills, hired and fired employees, and stayed up endless hours helping clients. I woke to customer calls at one in the morning, and I understood what a commitment really was. Running my own company really showed me who I am. I learned from people that were hardworking and independent individuals whom were built for success. I am continuing my business interests and will be pursuing a major in finance, and plan on experiencing a successful career in Investment Banking. Why? Because the same hand that held mine as a child now holds my heart forever.
