Hello, hello, hello! My name is Jocelyn and I've been working with children since I was a teenager. My mother calls me the pied piper because I have the personality kids love and parents trust. I mixed that passion with teaching and have been in a public classroom for the past 5 years. I started out in 2nd grade, thoroughly enjoyed teaching reading in 1st grade, changed over to 6th grade language arts for a year and am presently teaching 3rd grade. I am certified from prekindergarten up to 8th grade with a special emphasis on reading comprehension and math. While working on my bachelors in early childhood education I had the opportunity to work in a preschool. I feel that I really got to understand the mind of a child and that experience contributed to my ability to teach children of all ages. I'm the type of teacher to use whatever means neccesary to 'get it.' I tend to use chants and rhythms for concepts to stick. I'm also very visual- I like to draw out math problems especially.
I've tutored a few students in Florida. I like the one on one setup, I just never had much time to devote to it. However now I'm fully prepared and able to share my knowledge with others.
