I went to James Madison High school and graduated valedictorian. Then, I studied at University of Chicago concentrating in Biology and Economics, with a focus in Biomath. Math has always been my favorite subject in school because of its clear logical structure. I would love to help students discover their liking for math because school should at least be interesting, if not fun!
I have tutored students continuously since high school, most in one-on-one settings. During high school, I tutored classmates as part of National Honor Society. I tutored elementary and middle school students who were left behind academically from rural parts of Virginia during the summer. Then, in college, I tutored "problem" students from the neighborhood as part of my volunteer activity.
I truly enjoy the moment when I can see the sparkle of total comprehension in the students' eyes. That's also the moment when they actually begin to enjoy learning and problem sets, because learning has become a game!
