Donna attended and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans. She has served her community personally and professionally by working with the New Orleans Child Protection, Safe and Drug Free Schools, the “Baby Think It Over” program. In 2002, Ms. Ganier became Program Coordinator for the New Orleans Council on Aging SenioRx program and became a pioneer for prescription coverage for senior citizens and adult disabled in the New Orleans area. She was at the forefront for the Greater New Orleans area in providing discount cards, prescription assistance for people 60 and over and then Medicare Part D. She established the Access to Benefits Coalition for the Greater New Orleans area. Since relocating, due to Hurricane Katrina, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana she has served her community by continuously advocating for the senior population for prescription coverage with Medicare Part D and Partnership for Prescription Assistance for all people. She has partnered with Senator Charles Boustany, Governor Bobby Jindal and the Louisiana Senior Health Insurance Program as well as the many other organizations and agencies in the state of Louisiana. She will continue to serve her community by advocating people in Louisiana. Her new venture is Rebel Advocacy and Healing Paws; advocating for people and rescuing and fostering animals.
She has also done tutoring and after-school tutoring. I am a calm tutor and understand studying techniques and learning styles. And with confidence we will do this together.
