I am currently attending Texas A&M University Corpus Christi as a Biomedical and Music Education major. I am a second year student but I will be a junior at the end of the semester. I worked as a Child Programs Coordinator in the summer at a local apartment complex where several hours a day with children. I helped them with several subject including but not limited to reading, writing, math, and typing skills. I tried to encourage the children to commit to their tasks at hand by turning things into games. I also made it easy for the children to commit to the subject by separating the subjects over the week. On Mondays, for example, we worked on math, on Tuesdays we worked on reading, and so on. Fridays were our game days where we would incorporate what we had worked on during the week into fun activities. My teaching style is mostly hands on. I feel it is the easiest way to learn because you are actually seeing what you are working on.
