Are you or your child struggling with basic skills in reading, writing or math? If the answer is yes, you should know that EVERYBODY is capable of learning. Some just need the material presented in different learning styles.
I am a 4th grade teacher and know that while some of my students can understand the curriculum taught through direct instruction, others will need me to adjust to their mode of learning. I have provided tutoring to multiple age groups ranging from first grade to adult. During my one-on-one time, I assess what they know and what knowledge they are struggling to understand. After my assessment, I develop and present different strategies checking for understanding through our progression. As a post-graduate student taking my final class prior to receiving my Masters in Education, I understand and believe that learning is easier when the student is having fun. So, I incorporate games within my instruction.
I realize selecting a tutor can be difficult when you are not meeting people face-to-face. You should know that I am an easy-going person with two young children of my own. I understand the difficulties children in our educational system go through each day and that with support from outside of school, a student has a better chance of achieving his or her academic goals.
