I have 3 years towards a music degree, that I earned while living in the American Southeast. I studied piano for 11 years, 3 of them at University. I won a Music Merit Scholarship and attended the Govenor's Honors Program one summer in Georgia, and competed in numerous piano competitions in Georgia. I had several piano students during High School, which I taught at my home.
I did not finish my degree in Music, but rather worked for about 8 years in California, and subsequently finished my degree in Comparative Literature at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I obtained a B.A. with Honors.
Two years after finishing my degree, I moved to Japan, where I taught ESL-English as a Second Language for eight years. I created curriculums and taught all levels and ages of students ESL for eight years. I really enjoyed this job, and always created the most fun and intelligent environment possible for my students.
I still dream of teaching ESL again- but next time I would like to teach in Europe. My dream is to travel as much as possible. Living in a foreign culture is the most interesting and educational experience a person can have!
