I'm a mom who's been teaching my own kids for years. My son has many learning challenges such as dyslexia, dyscalcula, and dysgraphia. This has taught me to be creative and realize that real learning has little to do with grades and tests. I have a BA from Cal State Northridge in Liberal Studies, with my concentration in writing. I was a substitute teacher for LA unified for 2 years, and for Hillcrest Christian School for 6 months. I also have 12 units in Early Childhood Ed. And 5 years experience teaching Pre-K. My favorite subjects are writing, American History, and art. My hope is that you or your child become life long learners, having an inner desire to expand your knowledge and understanding of the world around you because you enjoy it, not just because you need to pass a test.
