About Marielle

Hello/Hola/Bonjour!My name is Marielle and I am a working professional that is looking to help students with their studies and improve their grades. I have been working for over 8 years now, but have worked with children since I was 13 years of age. I started with baby-sitting and then during high school I worked at my local public library where there were children's bi-lingual classes and activities I coordinated. During college, I was president of the Latino student organization. I studied and lived abroad in France where I became fluent. After graduating college, I continued to participate in the community activities for children and after school study sessions in the nearby middle or high schools. Since moving back to New York, I have participated in local events, city charity events for kids. Many colleagues suggested I look into this website in hopes of helping students while hoping to continue speaking my languages. I am fluent in Spanish as well, my parents are from Ecuador, but I am born and raised here in the United States. I enjoy helping people, most importantly students. I am creative with helping people remember and learn words, phrases, and speaking different languages. My teaching ranges from flash cards to analogies and everyday technology such as computers, websites and interactive games. I have a 16 year old sister and have been able to help her with school studies even though I live hundred of miles away. I think having her helps me become familiar with the challenges today and different ways to communicate to kids. I look forward to working and helping your child or yourself learn with ease.

"Helped so much in preparation for testing!!"

- Ashley A. from New York, NY

I studied French over my summer break with Marielle because I did not pass my final exam, so I was allowed to do a retake in September. Not only did I do exceedingly well on the retake, but I am also getting an A in my level III French class now! This was the first private tutor I had, and it was a great experience! Thank you so much Marielle!

"excellent"

- Lizzie T. from Astoria, NY

Marielle is a great match for me. She is clear and attentive and is not afraid to have fun and spice up a lesson. I look forward to our future lessons. I feel confident in her expertise as a teacher and her ability to form her lessons around the learning style of the student. Bravo!

"Loved her teaching skills"

- Lourdes L. from New York, NY

I would like to say that Marielle is a wonderful tutor. Although this was my daughter Jadyn’s first lesson, I could see that Marielle was knowledgeable, excited to be teaching, patient and very friendly. Jadyn was open to learning but after a while seemed restless because of her long day (we get up at six and she stays at school until six). Marielle stayed true to her skill and was able to provide a successful lesson for Jadyn. In the end, Jadyn had fun and I had fun watching my daughter speak her newly learned words.
