About Tiasha:

I am a graduate of The Art Institute of Houston with a degree in Interactive Media Design. This covers computer design, web design, audio and video. I also have extensive experience in internet usage training and hardware and software skills. One of my biggest accomplishments is designing the official fan club t-shirt for actor/rapper Nick Cannon.

My other proudest moment was being a member of PALs - Peer Assistance and Leadership, in high school. This is a mentoring program where we would go out to elementary and middle schools and work one on one with our assigned palees. This would be to play, talk, or work on homework - anything the child wanted to do for that time period. I love working with kids in arts and crafts, homework, computers, or just talking.

I also enjoy writing (essays, scripts, poems), reading, and performing arts as I am currently studying the art of acting.

More On Tiasha's Subjects:

  • general computer

I first got involved in computers and the internet in 1997 when my family got our first computer. I taught myself how to navigate online, downloading and uploading various things such as email attachments, photos, music, etc. I taught myself how to design websites, and my first site is still online today. Of course times and styles change and the site is completely outdated, but I don't have the heart to remove it from its internet trophy mantel. Since then, I have received a college degree in Interactive Media Design and have freelanced my way into entertainment marketing and graphics. I also spent 2 years teaching co-workers at an advertising company how to use web pages and the internet, and web applications.

  • html

I began using html as a self-taught teenager designing sites for music artists. I have always loved music, so my first sites were automatically directed at that industry. I spent countless hours learning html code and how to get the look I wanted. At first, just making the text bold and centered was an accomplishment. Then it grew into background effects, links, tables, and embedded audio/video. Eventually I got more involved in javascript and how to mix it html. Today, with every new site I make, I strive to learn a new skill. I can quickly code a functional site using more complex html and other coding languages.

  • web design

My desire to design web sites came out of nowhere. My family got a computer in 1997 and I automatically went to work designing graphics for some of my favorite music artists. At this time, web design for entertainers was just beginning to flourish. I wanted to take advantage of territory not yet mastered, so I began with the entertainers that I didn't feel had enough online credit. I had no formal education in web design or code so I had to learn from scratch. I knew what look I had in my mind but it took many hours per day to learn how to get it online. Years later, I decided to enroll at an Art Institute to get formal training on the subject. I graduated from The Art Institute of Houston with a degree in Interactive Media Design. I received training in graphics, color schemes, animation, and coding. I also learned about audio and video.
