My name is Leslie and I have been in the Boise area for nine years teaching in the Meridian and Boise School Districts. I have recently taken a half year leave of absence due to the birth of my daughter in June. During my teaching career, I have taught in an Extended Resource Room, servicing kids with severe to profound disabilities. I then moved to the middle school as a special education teacher teaching learning disabled kids in applied math and written language. I have taught as a Title One teacher at the elementary level, servicing students in reading and math. I have taught in a 4/5 combo classroom and have taught 2nd grade for 3 years. Students learn in different ways and they also learn at different rates. It is important to find how students best learn. Students need to feel success. This promotes motivation and the want to learn.
