More On Lauren's Subjects:

I consider myself to have been gifted with superior drawing skills and would love to share my passion of this craft to those eager to learn proper drawing skills. Not only do I excel in drawing but I have perfected the difficult medium of watercolor painting. I have a keen eye for proportion, color, design & composition. My knowledge of drawing has a strong basic and foundation geared basis. You must first understand the basics of drawing before you can move on to develope your own style as an artist. One of the most difficult things you can ever learn to draw is the human figure and having taken several lifedrawing classes, I am much more confident in my drawing capabilities. I recently graduated with a BFA degree from the American Academy of Art in Chicago in April 2008. I have been involved in numerous gallery shows including my very own self-debut show in May 2008. In addition to being featured in local galleries, I have also won numerous awards for my work such as scholarships and the most recent being a finalist in the "Design Our Pepsi Can" contest held by none other than Pepsico. Since June 2007, I have been working as a freelance illustrator, designer, and art director for the Bradford Group in the Hawthorne Village department. I design concepts for consumer goods such as fine collectibles and children's toys. I have also designed several logos for local small businesses. I trully do have a passion for my craft. I live and breathe the arts and have been consumed by it my whole life to this point and plan on being surrounded by it for the rest of my years to come.
