I graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 2007 with a degree in Biochemical Sciences. I then spent a year doing research in Japan on a Fulbright Fellowship, and now I am a medical student at UCSF School of Medicine.
Throughout these years I have been teaching and tutoring a wide variety of subjects, including writing, chemistry, Japanese, MCAT (all subjects), SAT I Verbal, and English conversation. I have also had experience helping with application essays and giving college counseling consultations.
I am passionate about good teaching and about all my subjects, and I love to work one-on-one with my students to help them achieve their goals. I am encouraging and engaging and I like to make things fun. I am student-centered and try to tailor my approach to the individual student. I believe firmly in working together with the student to help him or her master the material, rather than simply talking at the student. Finally, I believe that only experience yields improvement and mastery, and practice makes perfect!
