I believe that the benefits of playing and staying in sports are endless in the life of a growing child. I am in my fifth year of teaching Physical Education to Pre-K-Eigth Grade students. I enjoy instructing children about the importance of staying active, exercising, running, building strong muscles, nutrition, etc. However, I thoroughly enjoy inspiring children to realize the power of sports in the development of their character and basic human values that make each one of us the most unique, peaceful, positive, productive person we can be today and in the future. For example, a child who works hard to improve their basic baseball skills-throwing,catching,fielding,hitting and base running-will naturally development self-confidence that they can apply to other areas of the life. I also have some creative ideas on how to encourage basic human values-hard work, teamwork, patience, positive attitudes, sharing, sportsmanship, etc. I have a B.S. in Child Development from Illinois State University. I have a wide variety of experiences over the past 22 years working primarily with children ages 3-12 in:Physical Education, youth sports-,instructor,coach,ref,recreation-summer camps, after school programs, and social service. I have extensive experience working with regular education as well as special needs-bd,ld,add,adhd,autistic-children. I am a very caring, patient, postive person with a natural ability to inspire children to reach their full potential in life by realizing the many benefits of playing and staying in sports.
