I am currently a Sophomore in college, majoring in Biochemistry. I presently attend California State University of San Marcos and hope to attend Duke University, John Hopkins, or Baylor University for medical school.

In juior high I was part of the Junior National Honor Society and Junior California Scholarship Federation. In high school I continued to be a part of the National Honor Society and California Scholarship Federation with a GPA of 4.3. I managed to participate in extracurricular activities such as singing in choir, altar serving at church, coaching volleyball, swimming, playing piano, tutoring, volunteering as a transporter at Paradise Valley Hospital, and became a Professional Polynesian Dancer my senior year of high school. Studying hard is just as important as playing hard.

I know certain subjects may be difficult, but that is what makes life interesting. I love to help and see students succeed academically, socially, and physically.

I myself am a visual, auditory, and hands on type of learner. Every student's learning style is different and must be met in order to succeed. I feel that I am flexible in this respect.

As a tutor, the student and I will focus on study skills, organization, and determine what type of learning style he or she follows best.

  Acquiring outstanding study skills is imperative for success in school, future occupations, and life itself. Mastering the art of studying, so to speak, enables a student to reduce stress and increase letter grades. Study skills is a learned nature not nurture; therefore, anyone can develop excellent study habits. My current major is Biochemistry--essentially Premedicine. I attend class Monday through Friday and go to a six hour lab on Tuesdays and a three hour lab on Thursdays, on top of lecture classes. I have a daily routine of preparing for exams and finishing home work. It is a great idea to keep a syllabus at hand and a personal planner to mark down all tests, papers, and major project due dates, which is what I find most helpful. It is really all about time management and patience. Your ability to study will carry on to your ability to work and be successful.
