• ESL/ESOL

  I began learning Spanish when I was in 3rd grade and have continued to advance my proficiency in the language. By high school, I was taking Spanish courses with Native speakers. I continued to become more comfortable with the language in college and further developed my writing and reading skills. I was able to study Spanish abroad in my 3rd year of college, in the Dominican Republic where I significantly improved my speaking as well as reading and writing skills. During my time there, I took a ESL course and went through a training of teaching English to my fellow Dominican university students and at the end earned my certification in teaching English as a second language. In turn, I went and taught English to grade school students at a charter school in Guatemala and was able to practice my certification skills making lesson plans and manipulating the various teaching methods.

  I have been using computers for over 10 years now. I can train others in the basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point as well as more indept programs that are industry specific such as Access. I have extensive experience with the Internet and how to maneuver through its resources and can help someone setup up an email account, aim, ichat, and other online spaces. I am knowledgeable in computer applications such as Photo Manipulator programs such Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Aperture as well as in Address Books, Itunes, and other more advanced tools. More importantly, I am proficient in both macs and PC and can teach the shortcuts in both.

• video production

  I started doing video production in high school. I worked for the local cable station in Long Beach doing video broadcast and production for local news and high school sports events including basketball, football, volleyball, and baseball games. I have been trained in on camera etiquette, camera equipment, grip, and post production editing tools. I just recently graduated from the film school at Northwestern University outside of Chicago. I have produced and directed over 20 short films and student organized productions consisting of seminars, speakers, cultural arts (dance, singing, theatre) and live feed performances. I can teach producing which consist of very important pre-production tactics and follow through skills. In addition, I am proficient in Final Cut Pro Studio and other editing skills such as Compressing and Uploading. I have refined skills in pre-production, production, as well as in post production procedures.
