Hello!
I am a passionate teacher and have extensive experience teaching people of all ages both in the US and abroad. But before you read my "credentials" below, the bottom line is this: I know how to explain things. I am a natural teacher because I am a clear communicator who can put herself in the student's shoes. I can adapt to every student's learning style and adjust my approach based on his or her personality and needs. And above all, I love teaching because I love learning.
That said,
I began tutoring my fellow students back in high school, where I organized and ran the National Honor Society tutoring program and busied myself tutoring math and Spanish students, while teaching essay writing to my AP Spanish class. In college I pursued degrees in both Geography and Cultural Anthropology, graduating with honors in both. I studied culture and development in Bolivia for 7 months, and tutored other students in writing and Spanish. I spent two years of college focusing on the Russian language and advanced math, but found that my passion lay mostly in international education, and went on to work as a Study Abroad Adviser at Northwestern University. After leaving that job, I spent almost two years living on a cocoa farm in Costa Rica where I worked in the fields, created a natural soap business, and made ends meet by coordinating visiting student groups from the University of Toronto while also teaching Spanish to visiting students and English to local students.
Now that I am back in Colorado, I am dedicating my time to learning about botany, natural health, and continuing my writing endeavors.
