During my seven years of tenure as pre-primary and grade I & II teacher at Oakridge School, I had the opportunity to help and observe children with different levels of intelligence, communication and cognizance skills between the ages of five and seven. During this period I,
? Contributed towards the growth of each individual child in the class room
? Helped children with different emotional and social behavior in aligning themselves with the rest of the class and meet the set expectations for that class
? Interacted with the parents on regular basis to keep them up to date on the progress of the child and address any special concerns that parents had
? Helped children in asking questions and finding answers through inquiry based method of teaching and in this process molded them to become independent learners and inquirers
? Took special care towards children with behavioral and social problems and worked with them patiently to stream line them with the rest of the class.
? Organized small cultural events in the class and encouraged introvert children to participate and become more open.
? Took special care of expatriate children with language problems ,identified and supported children with learning difficulties by giving individual attention and bringing them into the mainstream classroom.

This school was based on traditional system of education. As a part of this tenure, I was exposed to the traditional methods of teaching. During this period I have taught courses in basic mathematics, social sciences with prescribed syllabus. Took special care of slow learners using guided teaching and helped them in reciting their lessons.
Chaitanya Vidhyalaya, Nursery 1995 – 1996
This was my first experience as a teacher. During this period I interacted with children between ages two and three years. Primary purpose of this job was to make the small children feel at home by giving them warmth and affection.
