I'm Robby - a New York actor who would love to help you in your studies.

I went to high school in Newfoundland, Canada where I was enrolled in various AP courses (Music, Biology, English)and tutored many of my peers. I moved to the States after I received a full scholarship to Arizona State's School of Music. While there I led several informal study groups - a task my friends gave me because they said I had a way of "making it all so easy to understand."

Although music and performing has always been my passion, I've always been a bit of a science nerd at heart. I was accepted into several schools in Canada, where I would have studied pre-Vet Medicine, but I couldn't pass up the opportunities ASU provided.

I pride myself on being a very outgoing, fun, and easy person to get along with, which I think is important when to comes to 1-on-1 tutoring. I believe that when you're in a fun environment with someone you're comfortable with the learning process isn't just easier, but also enjoyable. Imagine that!

  I have extensive experience in ear training, including high school AP Music Theory and aural studies in 18th-20th century music through college. My knowledge of intervals and relative pitch give me an advantage when it comes to teaching ear training to others.

• general music

  I have spent most of my life submersed in music. I studies piano as a child and later became a professional trombone player and singer. I studied music through high school (including AP Music Theory) and college. I now live in NYC and make my living as a musical theater performer. My solid foundation in music theory and my extensive knowledge of various aspects of the music world make me an ideal music teacher.

• sight singing

  My 13 year background in choral singing has established a solid foundation in sight singing. My knowledge of theory, ear training, and intervals and my superior ability to teach these aspects of music make me an exceptional teacher when it comes to sight singing.

  I have been a professional New York actor for nearly 9 years. My studies in Music Performance at Arizona State University included many classes in theater arts. My professional experience includes credits from NY's Prospect Theatre Co., The Orlano Shakespeare Theatre, and Nickelodeon to name few.

• voice (music)

  I have studied voice for over 13 years, including college lessons, and thus have an thorough knowledge of vocal pedagogy. I have been working in extensively in the US and Canada as a singer and voice actor and can draw on all that experience to help in teaching voice.
