I am a certified teacher of English as a foreign language. I taught english in italy providing private lessons as well as teaching classes. I was also an assistant teacher and tutor for a school in Baltimore. Additionally, I have a B.A. in International relations. As a friendly and dedicated tutor, I realize that students are not interested in every subject they are studying, so I try to put the material in a context that the student finds more stimulating. I know how to balance learning and fun! I can tutor a wide range of subjects, and I am very skilled at teaching grammar and vocabulary. I am also sensitive to the challenges a student faces when struggling with a subject, therefore I consider part of my goal to not only help the student achieve better grades and improve skills, but gain confidence in his or her ability to be a successful student.

My certification process included a grammar exam on which I received a nearly perfect score. Additionally, I completed 10 hours of observed teaching practice, and a written analysis of private language instruction. Upon being certified, I worked for The American Language Center in Florence, Italy. Therefore the status of my ability to teach ESL, ESOL should be written as 'certified' rather than 'interested'. I can teach all levels, including: business english and TOEFL preparation.
