About Sarah:

I am experienced at tutoring at all levels, from pre-kindergarten through undergraduate. Need a math tutor? I'm your girl. As someone who hated math growing up, I finally got it in college. I am able to explain math and science topics in several different ways, thus allowing you (or your child) to thoroughly grasp the concept. I understand the frustration that comes with not understanding mathematical concepts. However, I believe that math can be fun and exciting! When asked when you're ever going to need to know this - the answer is - ALL THE TIME! Grasping basic math (even calculus) is the basis for most scientific concepts, and assists in every career from art and accounting to zoology. This doesn't even broach monitoring your stocks and balancing your checkbook!I studied biology (and criminal justice) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and am back at school studying electrical engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago.I did exceedingly well in my SATs (1400+, pre-2005 scoring), and scored a 33 out of 36 on my ACT. I scored multiple 5's on AP tests in US History, Literature, and Biology. I got a 4 in Spanish.I am a published writer, and able to tutor in essay and creative writing, as well as reading. I also have five years experience in giving swimming lessons. If you need lessons in tennis or a basic running coach, I am also your woman. I have played tennis for nearly 15 years (competitively), and currently serve as a group leader for the CARA marathon training program.
