Below is some background on me, so you can get to know me a bit better:
I am a graduate of Sacred Heart University where I studied and earned a BS in Psychology. I am in the process of applying for my Masters Degree in Social Work. I attended Katherine Gibbs Business School back in 1995. Over the past 12+ years, I've worked as an Administrative Assistant and I have extensive experience in a variety of Microsoft Programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, LiveMeeting, SharePoint to name a few.
I am able to tutor individuals on the basics of computers, tech support, software programs, and many other basic to advanced computer related areas. I am Certified in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as general computer lessons.
My ancestry is Greek. I am first generation American. This means I have the benefit of having immigrant parents who only speak Greek and I have many family members in Greece with whom I communicate regularly. I also participate in many Greek traditions. I am fluent in Greek speaking, writing and conversation. I attended Greek school myself and am able to tutor a child or adult trying to learn Greek. I am certified to teach Greek.
I remember when I took the SATs. I was taught study skills for remembering new vocabulary. Little tricks and tips that made a difference in my score. Then onto college where I had to quickly pick up lots of information in a short period of time and apply critical thinking skills to questions and essays on exams.
Having successfully completed college as an adult going back to school, I implemented study methods suggested by professors, trainers and those which I thought worked best for me. I have used several different methods in different situations to see what works best and which provides the greatest level of success in the shortest period of time. I am confident I can share these methods with students and help them as others have helped me.
I am certified to teach study skills. I can also help you learn to read or learn to write. There are different types of writing, depending on the purpose and/or the audience. What do you want to write about? A speech, a play, a book? Or perhaps you need to learn basic writing and reading. I am Certified in English, Grammar, Proofreading and Reading Comprehension.I hope you choose me because I am very confident my methods will help you.
