I have a Master of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with teaching majors in mathematics and computer science. My GPA is 3.48. With experience working at both the high school and college levels, as well as in different countries, I have a diverse background with much to offer.
For many students, math is a very sophisticated and abstract subject. Often, concepts, facts and formulas are memorized, but the purpose behind them is not well understood. Through my teaching experience, I realized that the best way is to move from tangible facts through abstract concepts of math. It is necessary to ensure mastery through timed challenges and drills. Logic, reasoning and ability to apply the well-understood principles develop as students progress. Students develop enthusiasm to math because they understand what they are doing and why. As students realize their success, they become confident in their ability.
