I completed High School in Berlin, NH. At this time, I worked for the community recreation center and coached children and young adults in basketball and softball.
I then went on to college at UNH-Durham , NH and majored in Psychology. I worked as a tutor for an individual that was blind while I was in college. I learned a lot about different teaching styles and studying skills as a result of this experience.
After graduation, I worked as a counselor at a group home and spent time tutoring students that were in high school. The subjects that I tutored were diverse and at all levels.
I currently work as a counselor for the State of NH, Department of Education, in Vocational Rehabilitation. As a counselor of VR, I work with a variety of individuals with different disabilities. Our goal is to help these individuals find employment or maintain employment.
I also have experience tutoring an individual with Autism. I worked with this individual on reading, math, English, social studies, and science. I also worked with this individual on developing social skills and learning basketball and soccer skills.
I am currently a graduate student and working on my Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. I love to meet new people and help out others that are seeking support. I am a very patient, kind, and caring person, that has the ability to work with many different people from a variety of backgrounds. I like to be creative in my teaching style, but I can also be traditional. I will gear this style and can be flexible so that it matches the learning style of the individual that I tutor.
