Hello! My name is Paul and I'm from Wayne, NJ. I'm a 23 year old college graduate from Montclair State University. I earned a BA in music performance with a concentration in piano. I spent my years at MSU studying and mastering the instrument of the piano under the direction of Professor Mark Pakman. Professor Pakman is a graduate from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Russia. Through studying with him, I have acquired a "Russian style" of piano playing and became very inspired by the music of great Russian composers, such as Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich. My last year of college music study was spent in my teacher's former school - the famous Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. In Moscow, I studied piano under the great pianist, Alexander Mndoyants.
Aside from my rigorous piano performance studies, I have also spent extensive time studying the art of piano pedagogy under Professor David Witten. Professor Witten is the chairman of the piano department of Montclair State University. Actively attending his classes in piano pedagogy, I was able to acquire a thorough understanding of the concepts and methods of piano teaching.
I have been giving private one-on-one piano lessons since 2001 to students of all ages, ranging from child to adult. Currently, I teach over 25 students and I always pay close attention to each and every one of them, making sure they progress in the right direction. I'M GREAT WITH KIDS...I make sure they are enjoying it while at the same time learning a lot. I give all of my students’ performance opportunities at least twice per year and keep them updated on local musical excursions.
