I am currently majoring in Spanish with a minor in Latin-American studies at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), expecting graduation on December 2008. Coming from a Latin American country and integrating into a totally different culture has been a very interesting experience. Regardless of the great challenges moving to another country entails, I have embraced the experience since I truly love learning about new cultures. Even as a young child I knew that I wanted to continue to learn more about other countries. My college studies began in one of the best universities in Venezuela, Universidad de Los Andes (ULA). I started studying modern languages with a minor in international relations, with the objective of eventually working for an international organization of prestige.
Besides being born and raised in Venezuela, the fact of having attended university for more than 4 years in that country, allows me to say that I am not only a Spanish native speaker, but that I also have a college level education in my mother language. Given that half of my family is of Brazilian origin also has allowed me to learn Portuguese as a child, and that is why today I can also say that I am fluent in that language as well. From a very young age I worked in tourism and the interaction with foreign visitors allowed me to learn my third language, English.
I am currently learning to speak Italian. Not only because I have a passion for languages, but since I am an Italian citizen I feel it is a must.
