  I have several years of successful elementary teaching under my belt, as well as individual and group tutoring experience with many different populations, including English Language Learners. I earned my teaching credential in California and relocated to Maine this past year. In addition to my multiple-subject elementary credential, I also have a Reading Specialist Credential and a Master's Degree in Literacy Education. I consider myself to be an expert in teaching reading, which (in my opinion) is the foundation to success in all other subjects as well. I have a proven track record of successful learning with my students, always building on their strengths and making sure they are enjoying their learning experience as we go along. I also like to teach to different modalities, as all students learn differently and understand things in various ways. The more ways to illustrate a point, the deeper the understanding.
