More On Karen's Subjects:

  • elementary (k-6th)

I just love teaching elementary students! When I was in college in Massachusetts, I had to pick a major. Well, I knew right away that I wanted to be an educator. I picked Elementary Education because my mother was a teacher and she was very helpful to me while going through the classes. I became certified in Elementary Education in 1996. I also graduated with a 4.0. I started teaching after I graduated and I continue to take continuing ed. classes to keep up with the new laws and testing. My tutoring skills for you will certainly make you closer to being a "WyzAnt"!!

  • special needs

I don't think you could ague that I have most of my experience in special needs! If you look at my profile you will see that I am certified in Special Needs k-12 and I have many years teaching just that. The last 4 years have been with Hospital Homebound students (one-on-one) which was like tutoring! I've had students with disabilities ranging from Down's syndrome to dyslexia, physically and mentally handicapped, abused, depressed and so on. I love all kinds of kids and enjoy making the lessons fun!
