I am a bright, warm, very educated and outgoing 23 year old female, and I have been working with children in some capacity since I was a child myself! I can help your child in any area he or she needs guidance, but I am really a Humanities specialist, and an engaged and talented one at that! I have worked throughout the years as a nanny, babysitter and mother's helper as well as a tutor. I graduated Cum Laude from UCBerkeley with an Honors BA degree in Art History and Italian Studies, I am a published poet and writer, adore thinking, writing and reading about art as well as making it myself, and I speak fluent French and Italian. I lived abroad in Italy for the entirety of my Junior year in college, taking Art History classes at the University of Bologna in an Italian classroom. I studied Latin since Junior High school, adding French in 8th grade (a bonafide Francophile from birth!) and Italian in college, and have a thorough and comprehensive understanding of and passion for the way language works. I also can speak Spanish and dabble in Portuguese (I am a nut for the Romance languages!). I love to write, have written Press Releases, etc., while working in art galleries and edited manuscripts while working in Publishing. I am an avid reader with a keen analytical and editorial eye, a people person through and through, and a highly open and adept communicator. My teaching style is incredibly active and eclectic--I aim to get the child truly engaged with what he or she is learning, and this requires a lot of creativity, patience, flexibility, and energy on my part. I like to make learning fun...not a chore. I am enthusiastic and maternal--children love me and I love them! I have forged life-long relationships with the kids I have worked with. Allow me to do the same with yours!
