I have an MFA in Writing which I received from The New School University in New York City. I also have a BA in English from Virginia Tech. I have been employed as a professional writer and a teacher. While in graduate school, I tutored students at Borough of Manhattan Community College in writing, literature, and reading. I worked for 2 years before that as a substitute teacher in Virginia where I taught elementary, middle, and high school students a variety of subjects. I have experience as a technical writer, and I have published several book reviews. I am familiar with cultural and literary trends as well as grammatical standards. I am excited to tutor individuals or small groups, and I have some experience tutoring students whose first language is not English. I am passionate writer and teacher, and I look forward to helping any student accomplish their academic goals.
