I am a biologist who also likes chemistry and math. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Notre Dame, and I received a Master of Science degree in Forensic Biology this past December from the University at Albany State University of New York. During my undergraduate study, I tutored an adult member of the South Bend community in pre-calculus and several high school students in other math and science classes. During my graduate study, I taught two semesters of General Biology Laboratory and one semester of Microbiology Laboratory to undergraduate students. Through my teaching and tutoring experiences I have discovered a strong desire to teach other people subjects in which I am knowledgeable and that excite me, such as math and science.

  Really connects with my daughter

  Kathleen has just started working with my daughter, and I'm so happy to say that they have connected really well. My daughter was easily frustrated with the way that her Chemistry teacher was explaining things in class. Kathleen puts the lessons into terms that Marie understands without making her feel stupid. She feels very comfortable asking Kathleen any question and is never afraid to say that she needs more help. Now she goes to class and answers questions easlily and gets compliments from her teacher! Kathleen looks ahead at upcoming chapters and labs and helps Marie to be prepared going into each day of class.
