Since 1982,I have taught business and pre-business majors at the University of Washington and other colleges. My areas of expertise include law, ethics and business writing. I have degrees in English and law. I am an excellent writing coach. I've tutored high school students in the reading and writing portions of the SAT; taught adults to prepare for the LSAT and GRE, and tutored ESL students in English and law. I've also tutored adults to take the U.S. citizenship test. I have a strong background in English, American history, government and politics; business, European and world history. I am a skilled and experienced writer, organic food gardener, sea kayaker, cross-country skier and backpacker. For many years I have sung in community choruses. I've published several poems and articles. More than 20 years ago, I founded and facilitate a book club that is still meeting. In 1994 I completed a certificate in non-fiction writing through the Extension program at the University of Washington. Writing is one of my favorite hobbies. Some of my other oddball skills include crocheting, beading, quilting and genealogical research. I have spent most of my career teaching and tutoring college students as well as tutoring high school students. Working with people to help them improve their skills is enjoyable and satisfying.   I taught in the University of Washington Business School from 1991-1992 and from 1994-2007. Courses included Introduction to Law, Business Ethics and Business Communication. In order to teach business ethics, I did extensive research in many areas of business including: business, government and society, economics, government regulation of business, organizational management, history of business, corporate governance, sustainable business practices, free trade, the operations of the stock market, international business, products liability, corporate misconduct, human resource issues, marketing and many other topics. From 1982-1984, I had a solo law practice. I learned how to operate a successful small business. Many of my clients owned small businesses.
