About Andrew:

Academics:

I graduated high school with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. I was a scholar athlete all 4 years despite juggling school with baseball and work. My teachers elected me into the Winter Formal Court my Senior year. I began my college coursework on a baseball scholarship at UC Riverside and transferred to Cypress College for baseball reasons, where I achieved a cumulative 3.8 GPA and made the President's Honor Roll both years there, certifying me in the top 2% of all students within the institution. This was achieved despite playing baseball ~30 hours per week, doing rehabilitation for my pitching arm, and working as well. I was recruited by numerous schools, including USC, but chose to attend UC Santa Barbara where I am currently studying.

Sports Accomplishments/Awards:

I have always been very athletic and a lover of nearly all sports. I particularly enjoy aerobic exercise (weight lifting, running, and martial arts) and basketball. My true passion, however, is and always has been baseball.

In high school, I played basketball but quit to focus on baseball after a few months. I then became a 4 year varsity starter for the baseball team. I won the CIF championship as the starting first baseman my freshman year. I received all-league, all-county, all-state, and all-CIF honors throughout my 4 years. I was team MVP, team captain, and the conference Utility player of the year (I was a starting pitcher as well as a hitter). After discussing draft opportunities with multiple pro teams, I chose to attend UC Riverside on a scholarship. I then transferred to Cypress College, where I was the starting first baseman and pitcher both years there. I was the only player in the state championship tournament both to hit and pitch, and I threw a 2-hitter against Northern California's top seeded team, Fresno, in a 10-0 win in the semifinal game. I was all-conference my second year there as well as team captain.

After much deliberation, I have chosen to focus on school without incorporating organized sports into the equation. I love kids and have worked as a baseball and softball camp instructor and coach for over 4 years both as a volunteer as well as an employee. I have played on countless teams throughout my life, and thus have learned the importance of teamwork and discipline. I have developed many social skills throughout my life, and I love to apply them toward helping people whenever possible.

You will never regret using me as a tutor. I have a work ethic and discipline that is tough for anyone to rival, and I enjoy myself in nearly everything I do. If I am not in class or working, I virtually always have my phone handy. Please call anytime with any further inquiries.

More On Andrew's Subjects:

  • softball

Although I am a guy and have played baseball instead of softball growing up, I have been playing and learning baseball since I was 4 years old (I am 21 now) and have played year-round since I was about 11. I made all-stars every year possible in Little League as a shortstop and pitcher, and was the starting shortstop and a pitcher for our Little League team who placed 3rd in the Western United States in Majors. I was the starting 1st baseman and pitcher all 4 years for my high school team, where I won a CIF championship as the only freshman starter on the team. I was awarded all-league (multiple years), all-county, all-CIF, all-state, team MVP, and conference ulility player of the year as a pitcher and hitter. I was also all-tournament for the National Baseball Classic and a Baseball America "Player to watch." I received letters of interest from numerous professional teams, but opted to attend UC Riverside on a scholarship. I then left and attended Cypress College, where I was an all-conference pitcher and hitter. I pitched a 2 hit shutout against Northern California's top ranked team, Fresno, in the semifinal game of the state championships. In addition to playing, I also have experience coaching both boys AND girls ranging from 4-13 for over 4 years. I did so both as a volunteer as well as an employee of the Baseball Academy based out of Santa Ana, California. One young boy that sought me for lessons became an all-star within 1 year! I thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge of both baseball and softball with anyone who wants to learn more about it, especially children like yours who are enthusiastic about getting better. Baseball and softball are wonderful games that maintain uniqueness from most all other sports out there, and I thoroughly enjoy teaching them to boys and girls just like yours.
