Academics:
I graduated high school with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. I was a scholar athlete all 4 years despite juggling school with baseball and work. My teachers elected me into the Winter Formal Court my Senior year. I began my college coursework on a baseball scholarship at UC Riverside and transferred to Cypress College for baseball reasons, where I achieved a cumulative 3.8 GPA and made the President's Honor Roll both years there, certifying me in the top 2% of all students within the institution. This was achieved despite playing baseball ~30 hours per week, doing rehabilitation for my pitching arm, and working as well. I was recruited by numerous schools, including USC, but chose to attend UC Santa Barbara where I am currently studying.
Sports Accomplishments/Awards:
I have always been very athletic and a lover of nearly all sports. I particularly enjoy aerobic exercise (weight lifting, running, and martial arts) and basketball. My true passion, however, is and always has been baseball.
In high school, I played basketball but quit to focus on baseball after a few months. I then became a 4 year varsity starter for the baseball team. I won the CIF championship as the starting first baseman my freshman year. I received all-league, all-county, all-state, and all-CIF honors throughout my 4 years. I was team MVP, team captain, and the conference Utility player of the year (I was a starting pitcher as well as a hitter). After discussing draft opportunities with multiple pro teams, I chose to attend UC Riverside on a scholarship. I then transferred to Cypress College, where I was the starting first baseman and pitcher both years there. I was the only player in the state championship tournament both to hit and pitch, and I threw a 2-hitter against Northern California's top seeded team, Fresno, in a 10-0 win in the semifinal game. I was all-conference my second year there as well as team captain.
After much deliberation, I have chosen to focus on school without incorporating organized sports into the equation. I love kids and have worked as a baseball and softball camp instructor and coach for over 4 years both as a volunteer as well as an employee. I have played on countless teams throughout my life, and thus have learned the importance of teamwork and discipline. I have developed many social skills throughout my life, and I love to apply them toward helping people whenever possible.
You will never regret using me as a tutor. I have a work ethic and discipline that is tough for anyone to rival, and I enjoy myself in nearly everything I do. If I am not in class or working, I virtually always have my phone handy. Please call anytime with any further inquiries.
