I look at each student individually and respond to them accordingly. Fairness is crucial in my dealings with students. If a student can believe in me and has a good rapport with me, he will be more willing to work for me. "How you do" is as equally important as "what you do."
Having four children of my own still in public school, I feel that I am still aware of today's societal issues regarding our children. Today's pressures on students limit some from achieving to their best. These things should be considered with adaptive techniques and non-traditional approaches.
I am open-minded. I have had a multiple of classroom experiences, so little surprises me. I realize that we all come from different cultural, religious and educational backgrounds. And, that is okay.
I am dependable and conscientious. I take my work seriously. I still enjoy it and the children. I do not miss many days, and I am always prepared with the day's lesson plans. As long as I have taught, I realize that there is always room for improvement and am constantly looking for that new idea that will challenge and interest my students. We are never too old to learn.
