Hello! I've recently relocated to the bay area from Maryland after 18 years and am currently getting reacquainted with all of my immediate family (I have 7 younger brothers and sisters!). Since being away from home, I've worked as an optician in the Navy, an Intelligence Analyst in the Army Reserve, and a Program Manager and Facilitator for a children's Assault Prevention non-profit organization.
I've enjoyed working as a personal academic tutor for the SCORE! Educational Center in Colesville, MD, and volunteering in my church as a youth mentor and children's ministry teacher for several years.
One of my greatest personal victories has been recently graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts in English after many years of taking courses while in the military. Now I aim to research teaching programs in the area and pursue graduate level coursework.
My teaching style is to ask questions that prompt students to problem solve as much as possible from acquired knowledge, and then guide them step-by-step to solutions.
I look forward to helping and assisting students academically in any way that I can, as it is rewarding to make a difference in the lives of youth!
