My best subject in grammar school was English and I scored at a college level reading rate when I was in the eighth grade. I grew up on the north side of Chicago, Ill. where the shcools were excellent and by background in grammar is superb. I was always in advanced placement classes in English and scored very high on my SAT in High School English. I started playing piano by ear at age 13 but took most of my Formal training in college at Northeastern Illinois University. I practically minored in music and have taken 2-3 years of piano study since college. I moved to California to go to graduate school and pursue my dream of becoming a pschotherapist. I did tutoring and substitute teaching. I love teaching in small groups or one on one. My reading and writing skills really helped with term papers but I can also write creatively. I have experience in special education as well as gifted students. My study skills are excellent and I would happy to help you to focus so you could get the highest grade in class as I did several times. As far as teaching- I am extremely patient, kind and have a great sense of humor. I try to make learning a fun experience and am also very intuitive so I can discern your pace without you having to say much. I have a masters degree in counseling and I currently work as a tutor in the local schools part-time. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is currently semi-retired. I would love to hear from you.
