John is an experienced Secondary Education teacher and tutor of science (biology, ecology, earth science, physical science, basic algebra) and English (especially of grammar; creative, technical, and poetic writing; and proofreading/ editing). He also is an accomplished vocalist and actor, and has a working knowledge of the Bible and Christian theology.
While John's pedagogical practice has been at the high school and middle school levels, he is a seasoned veteran in working with children as young as 4th grade to young adults at the college/university level. His educational involvement has included teaching, coaching, tutoring, directing, and managing. He has served as junior/senior-high youth staff at Stony Creek Church for almost 10 years, and also previously led a college singles group at the same church.
John is very personable and laid-back, positive and encouraging. He loves to use humor, but is very serious about education.
