I am a graduate of Lexington, MA HS, Bowdoin College and Cornell University, where I studied, sang and played sports 18 hours a day. Baseball, basketball, captain of the tennis team, choral soloist.

I spent 5 years in the US Peace Corps in Colombia and traveling all over Latin America, so I speak perfect Spanish and am very at home in most Latin cultural situations.

Then I spent 27 years in Sweden, speak native Swedish and am still active as a cultural ambasssador between the US and Sweden. One could say that I am half Swedish.

Back in the US I have concentrated on performing, composing, teaching and creative writing, and primarily on raising two wonderful kids, now 10 and 8 years old. We laugh and sing and play a lot.

I have taught Spanish, English, Swedish and music from K thru 12, led several choirs, coached baseball, basketball and tennis and I HAVE LOADS OF FUN DOING IT!

• baseball

  I played baseball all through school on varsity teams, winning awards as a pitcher. I presently coach Little League teams in Portland, Maine, and I have a thorough understanding of the game.

• basketball

  I played basketball all through school, and was team co-captain and league All-Star in HS. I worked as a counselor at a Boston Celtic summer camp in the 70's. I coach my son's Winter League basketball teams.

• general music

  I have taught music from grades k thru 12 in various Maine schools. I have led children's choirs, from toddlers to high schoolers to adult groups, in Maine and in Sweden. I have worked as a performer, arranger and producer of musical recordings for many years.

• sight singing

  Many years of choral and solo vocal work have given me a most thorough command of sight singing. I have written, transcribed and arranged dozens of songs for myself and others to sight read. I have also taught voice, and sight singing is an important part of my lessons.

• tennis

  I was number one player and captain of both my High School and college teams. I was once a ranked player in Eastern Massachusetts. I have been a linesman for the professional championships at Longwood Cricket Club in Brookline, MA. I have taught tennis professionally for several summers at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead, MA., and have been a tennis counselor at summer camps.

• voice (music)

  I have led a number of youth choirs, where much of my work was getting the youngsters to use their voices properly when singing, be it in the choir or as a soloist. I have also taught voice to students privately, on a one-to-one basis, often using my own CD's to illustrate what we are trying to do.
